Sandra Ruiz – Co-Chair (Cameron)

Sandra Ruiz currently works as the Director of Advanced Academics and School Counseling Services for Los Fresnos CISD. She serves as Cameron Co- Chair for the UNIDAD Tobacco Prevention & Control Coalition and has always been passionate about serving her community. She has been an educator for 20 years in Cameron County and currently serves as Chair of the Cameron County Mental Health Task Force and is always seeking new ways to help the community.

Rosalie Tristan – Co-Chair (Willacy)

Rosalie Tristan is an advocate for her community. She believes genuinely that we need community action and polices to support healthy communities. She currently serves on the board for Valley Initiative for Development Advancement, Valley Interfaith/ South West Industrial Areas Foundation and co-chair for the UDIDAD Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition (TPCC). Previously she served as coordinator for the Community Against Substance Abuse Collation for 6 years and coordinator for the TPCC in Cameron and Willacy County for 2 years.

Micaela M. Rodriguez – Vice-Chair

Micaela Rodriguez works for Su Clinica as the Program Coordinator for the Diabetes Prevention Program and is a Lifestyle Coach. Mrs. Rodriguez is a blessed mother of 4, and a doting grandmother of 3 beautiful grandchildren. She is deeply involved in her community and participates as much as possible. She currently serves as the Vice-President for the Lasara ISD School Board, and serves as the Vice-President for the Cameron Willacy Counties Community Projects, Inc.

Delma Rodriguez – Secretary

“Great things in community service are never done by one person, there’re done by a team of people,” are the words that Delma Rodriguez, a retired educator, believes in. She had a passion for being a storyteller at age eight, which inspired her to subsequently earn a BA degree in Elementary Education from Pan American University. During her 42 years of teaching in Texas and Illinois public school systems; she wholeheartedly committed to ensuring the educational needs of students were met to have a lifetime of success.
