ABOUT THE TOBACCO PREVENTION & CONTROL COALITION

Tobacco is the leading cause of preventable death among Texans and costs the state more than $8.85 billion annually in health care and lost productivity expenses. The Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition (TPCC) of Cameron & Willacy County is dedicated to reducing tobacco’s burden. Here you will find information on the TPCC’s comprehensive efforts as well as facts and data, coalition membership information, and quitting resources for tobacco use.

Our mission is to promote and advocate for a tobacco-free environment by empowering communities to affect individual and social change and promote compliance and support for enforcement of all tobacco laws.

Our vision is to prevent tobacco use among adolescents; increase tobacco cessation and eliminate exposure to second hand smoke.
